Biscayne acquires Leica C10 Laser Scanning System

Miami, FL-October 29, 2012-Biscayne Engineering is pleased to announce the expansion of our laser scanning capabilities with the addition of Leica’s C10 Laser Scanning System. “Biscayne Engineering’s commitment to laser scanning began in 2006”, said Mr. Bartholomew.  “The addition of the Leica C10 Laser Scanner to our arsenal will allow us to better serve our existing clients and to expand into new markets”, he added. Laser scanning is a surveying technology that allows the collection of millions of points in a short amount of time which are then stored in a three dimensional point cloud. “Laser scanning is ideal in situations where access is a problem, large amounts of data are needed, or anywhere that highly accurate detailed surface data is required”, said Eugenio Palomo, a graduate of the University of Florida’s Geomatics Program and one of Biscayne’s Certified Leica Scanner Technicians. The Leica C10 collects 50,000 points per second and performs a full dome scan about 10 times faster than its predecessor.
